Created in the big bang. the atlantis will be the last one in space. it will take off on june 28th and will shut the door on nasa s 30-year space program. what will nasa s future look like? i m joined by msnbc space analyst james oburg. another good morning. good morning, alex. what will it look like with nasa donating these to private companies? how will nasa look? it will change the requirements for the human spacecraft. the shuttle was a marvelous ship, be able to build thing like the space station and service the hubble telescope and other missions, but in many way it s overbuilt for transferring crews from earth to the space station and back, and it s underbuilt for getting beyond low earth orbit because it has things like wings that you don t want to carry with you out into the solar system. so, what nasa is working on is its own capsule to go further ....
