I spoke tojessica simor kc, a human rights barrister at matrix chambers. she leads the legal team representing the club of climate seniors. she said she s not surprised at the rise of human rights climate change cases being brought to courts. what we are now seeing is the actual impact of climate change affecting people today. and so people are already able to argue that their rights are being affected by the failure of states to do with they said they would and to do what they agreed to do and have failed to do under international treaties. so the law is that the international binding commitment by states to reduce admissions and protect individual rights. and individuals are relying on those rights to bring claims. so it is not surprising, but it will be very interesting to see how the court handles this, because obviously it is a very complex case to deal with. ....

And then we started picking up these noises, these messages from the courts and london and in brussels to the effect that something might be on and not everybody was going to be on this flight. the figure was about seven asylum seekers mid evening. that then went down to six, and then we still thought the flight was going to take off about an hour ago our time here, and then there were more legal actions as a result of the european court of human rights and some legal activity in london. and we ve just found out in the past 45 minutes the flight is not leaving, so in a sense they re back to square one to try and get this flight organised. but, of course, there are various legal arguments being put in place as to why it shouldn t be taking off, but certainly tonight, here on salisbury plain in the middle of a county called wiltshire, this flight is going nowhere. jessica simor qc is a human rights barrister, and shejoins us now from london. ....

They have tatooes made, nazi tattoos. they decorate their clothing with swastikas and other nazi symbols. they give nazi greetings and they are open about it on social media. this is the assessment from human rights barrister, helena kennedy. she s been appointed to a ukrainian task force investigating the alleged atrocities commited by russian forces. the satellite images showing that the bodies were on the ground and in places while the russians were there, because the story is, from the russian s perspective that this was all put together, that people s hands were tied on dead bodies after they had left and it was nothing to do with them. i mean, are they really. they seem to be suggesting that ukraine has maliciously murdered its own citizens in order to blame the russians. well, i mean, i think we do know and have evidence of bombing of civilian residential areas, of hospitals, of orphanages, of places where they might be children who were in hiding with their families, so we real ....
