By Walter Fields, KOMU 8 Reporter Construction is set to begin in late 2021 for what is known as the lynchpin of America . The I-70 Rocheport Bridge replacement is one step closer to construction. It is one of 53 bridges over water in the state of Missouri. It s becoming less common to see continuous truss construction bridges when they used to be all over the country. The deconstruction is set to begin later this year; it will be a three-year process to get the new bridge built. It is unlikely there will be any new continuous truss bridge anytime soon. The I-64 bridge over the Missouri River in Chesterfield was renovated, but only half was rebuilt; the other half remains. ....
