Weehawken has vaccinated more than half of adults

Weehawken has vaccinated 55 percent of its adults, according to a COVID-19 update, administering doses to eligible residents at a joint site with Union City and the North Hudson Community Action Corp.
“We can do better! We must do better! Herd Immunity requires 70 to 80 percent of the adult population to be vaccinated,” Mayor Richard Turner said.

Bayonne designates ‘Pfizer days’ for young people at vaccination site
As active COVID-19 cases decrease, the number of vaccinated residents is increasing ×
“We are making incredible progress here in Bayonne,” Mayor James Davis said of the vaccine rollout. “We working our way to 50,000 doses of vaccines administered to our residents.”
Davis announced in his weekly COVID-19 video update that the Pfizer vaccine has now been authorized for those over age of 12. In response, the city has decided that Tuesdays and Thursdays will be days in which the Pfizer vaccine is distributed at the Korpi Ice Rink.
Davis urges residents to go to the Korpi Ice Rink any day of the week to get vaccinated. Residents can now walk in at the ice rink behind Bayonne High School at 669 Avenue A, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are no longer needed.

Residents 12 and over may soon be eligible for the Pfizer vaccine

Those ages 12 to 15, who are not yet eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, may be eligible soon.
Bayonne is readying to vaccinate residents age 12 and over, according to Mayor James Davis. The Food and Drug Administration is set to approve the Pfizer vaccine for this age group soon.
“We are seeing great progress with our vaccine program in Bayonne,” Davis said. “We hope to announce availability of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone over the age of 12 very soon.”

More COVID-19 vaccine appointments are now available in Union City at the Hillside Pavilion in the Union City Housing Authority, 3911 Kennedy Boulevard. The site, operating in conjunction with Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center, is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents can register at hackensackmeridianhealth.org/covid19. There are also limited walk-in appointments.
Union City has been vaccinating residents at a joint vaccination site with Weehawken since December. To register, go to northhudsonvax.org.
