The testimony was faux-legal nonsense. But in some seemingly widening circles, this jargon verges on religion. Over the past year, from Massachusetts to Washington, a growing slate of court officials and bystanders have found themselves muddling through conspiratorial legalese from people who claim to be “Moors.” The feuds range from takeovers of homes, which self-proclaimed Moors incorrectly claim to own, to the tense nine-hour standoff on a highway. ....

Moors group forces Mass. I-95 standoff, another with NJ cops


Mason said Massachusetts police are still learning about the Rise of the Moors group.
Saturday’s incident occurred close to Exit 57 on I-95 in Wakefield and ended with the arrests of all 11 people, but exact charges had not yet been released.
Police initially reported nine suspects were taken into custody, but two more were taken into custody in their vehicle later Saturday morning, according to AP.
Two suspects were hospitalized, but police said it was for preexisting conditions that had nothing to do with the standoff.
Mason said the suspects surrendered after police tactical teams used armored vehicles to tighten the perimeter around them. ....
