According to the police, the victims were travelling to Nashik from Buldhana Sailani Bana Dargah when their minibus rammed into a container truck early in the morning. Around 23 people were injured in the collision.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has ordered an investigation into a road accident on the Samruddhi Expressway that resulted in 12 fatalities. The state government will provide compensation of Rs five lakh to the families of each deceased, and the injured will receive treatment expenses covered by the government. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has also initiated an inquiry into the accident.
