this is believed to be the first picture of one of the pilots who ejected from the plane. this is from our nbc affiliate tv station in virginia beach. the man believed to be the pilot is just to the left of the police officer. we re also seeing the first picture of the canopy of the fighter jet which came off when the pilots ejected. and a first look at one of the parachutes which appears to have gotten hung up on the house. tonight we re also hearing from virginia governor bob mcdonald who says the pilots and residents stopped this disaster from becoming a lot worse. the heroism and incredible sponiveness of some of the citizens that jumped right to the scene along with the dozens and dozens of first responders from the state and local firefighters, ems, police, and others were just tremendous and in ensuring that the blaze was contained. the governor has pledged immediate assistance to those affected by the crash. a developing story out of howard university now. ....

fists went flying on metro this afternoon, transit system investigating a fight between a group of young people on the orange line. each and of one of them needs to be dealt with by the law because that s ridiculous and the parents need to be put to task. this seems to be a trending crime or activity. reporter: councilman tommy wells, a new member of the metro board, says when this happened, they need the other passengers to take action. as soon as they witness any behavior that seems out of the ordinary to call 911 or to call the other security number. reporter: today s fight comes on the heels of this video posted on the website dmvallaccess.com on february 13th. two teenages are throwing fists in a railcar on the orange line as a crowd cheered them on. the punching and kicking continued nearly a minute before the crowd jumped in to stop it. passengers we spoke with tonight say they are not surprised by the violence. six weeks ago some teenage girls attack ....
