The Auckland Brit & Euro Classic Car Show is sponsored by the Howick Local Board and several other subsidiary sponsors.
It is volunteer organised and about 1300 classic cars are already registered.
EAST FM do a live broadcast, and about 10,000 to 15,000 of the public attend this large free family oriented event.
There is food and drink and many local East Auckland organisations are involved to raise money through their stalls.
Sunnyhills resident Frank Lombard said he is annoyed the council wants to proceed with the sales.

Sunnyhills resident Frank Lombard is opposing council plans to sell four reserves in East Auckland as part of its Recovery Budget. “We are taking this to heart. We want to bring this to the attention of other Aucklanders. It’s not just happening here, it’s happening all over Auckland,” Lombard said. “It’s 20 reserves and parks this year, but if there’s a budget problem next year what’s going to happen then? Once you sell reserves like this they are lost forever.

Entering its decennial year, the Howick Youth Council is calling for past volunteers to reconnect as it prepares for a busy 2021.
The youth council, whose mission is to empower youth in east Auckland, has recently elected their new leadership team and is now looking forward to a member’s reunion later in the year.
Current youth council co-chair Danica Loulié-Wijtenburg says success couldn’t have been possible without the support of the group’s stakeholders and the many dozens of volunteer members who have been part of it.
“None of what we do today could have been possible without the institutional backing of the Howick Local Board, who has steadfastly supported us over the past ten years.
