So the wilson house, if you havent been here before, its part of the National Trust for historic preservation. Wilson and his wife edith lived in this house and they turned edith turned it over to the National Trust in 1961 upon her death and it has been lovingly cared for and so we welcome you tonight. I wanted to tell you a little bit about how we started this suffrage speaker series. Asantewa boakyewa, our senior manager of collections and interpretations, said to me this summer when i first started the job, there is a commission on the suffrage and i think we should go to that meeting. Its the womens Suffrage Centennial commission. And i said, okay, im going to go with you. And so we went down to the library of congress and we sat at a big table and there were a

Im going to los angeles to meet a woman who embraced the lifelong passion of her soul mate a love for all things outer space. My name is shelly cigel. And when my husband passed away, he left me with an incredible collection and a special gift from beyond the grave. Well, this is just a few Little Things that i took out. These nasa artifacts belonged to shellys husband, rick cigel, samples of a lifelong collection that includes everything from engine parts to autographs. And this is actually the flag that they had signed, and that was from apollo 12. Are these control panels . Look at this can i touch this . Absolutely. Please. Okay. Here we go. Can you imagine . Im jamie colby, and today im on the road in lawrence, kansas, on my way to the university of kansas home of the jayhawks, one of the most storied teams in all of basketball. Now, kansas is actually not where the tale of this strange inheritance begins, but through a turn of events, it does wind up here. In 1939, my grandfather, dr. James naismith passed away and left us an artifact that dates back to 1891. He was my greatgrandfather, and what he left us was the magna carta of basketball. Naismiths. Jamie. Im jim.
