7月12日15时35分，苏州市吴江区四季开源酒店辅楼发生整体性坍塌。事故造成23人被困，13日上午，已救出被困人员14名，其中8人遇难，尚有9人失联。
据中国消防消息，13日19时50分许，镇江消防在酒店倒塌废墟的西南角救出一名男性被困人员，但已无生命体征，全体消防指战员向遇难者脱帽默哀。这是搜救出的第23名被困者，目前搜救仍在继续。
据新华社报道，苏州市吴江区政府发布信息，经初步技术分析判断，事故原因是倒塌房屋现有产权人安排工人进场擅自进行装修改造，疑似内部承重墙体有拆改，致使该部分房屋坍塌。
深一度记者在采访中发现，该酒店此前曾多次易主翻新，一名酒店曾经的管理者对深一度称，2018年在接手酒店时，他发现主楼和辅楼拼接而建，且主辅楼连接墙体有裂缝。此外，在酒店辅楼坍塌前几日入住 ....
