Forest Holme Hospice revive their yellow ribbon event

Visitors are once again welcome to the Tie A Yellow Ribbon event at Forest Holme Hospice in Poole A LOCAL hospice has confirmed that an annual commemorative event will return thanks to the easing of lockdown restrictions. Forest Holme Hospice in Poole will host a scaled-down version of their Tie A Yellow Ribbon event on Thursday, August 5, between 11am and 4pm. Tie a Yellow Ribbon is a special event that usually takes place each year at Forest Holme, during Hospice Awareness Month in June. Due to the pandemic, the charity instead organised a yellow-ribbon inspired Arts Trail around Poole featuring work submitted by supporters.

Stuart Semple s Coldplay artwork on show for hospice charity

ARTIST Stuart Semple has donated a painting to Forest Holme Hospice s new arts trail, which is on display in Poole town centre throughout July. Bournemouth-based Stuart painted an interpretation of a yellow ribbon inscribed with lyrics from Coldplay’s hit single ‘Yellow’, which has been installed in one of the main windows near the entrance to Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts. His artwork will later be auctioned off to help raise money for the hospice charity. The concept of the art trail was to ask Forest Holme supporters to create yellow ribbon inspired works of art as an alternative the hospice’s usual Tie A Yellow Ribbon event, which could not take place this year due to government Covid-19 guidelines.
