HORNELL Snow isn’t the only thing that will be flying in the Maple City this winter.
A good deal of dirt will also be on the move.
The City of Hornell Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has signed off on just under $500,000 in site work at the Shawmut Industrial Park. The IDA approved a $498,191 contract with LeChase Construction, which will soon have some heavy machinery on site to make the land “shovel ready” for future development.
“It’s all uneven in there. Our idea was to go in there, straighten that site up and make it a good industrial site,” said Hornell IDA president and CEO Jim Griffin. “That’s still the purpose of this project.
