Harold Wood pupil's Dagenham & Redbridge FC charity match

A Havering Sixth Form student has organised a charity football match starring former professional players. 
Dagenham and Redbridge FC fan Charlie Ayris pulled together the game in aid of the Dyspraxia Foundation and British Dyslexia Association.

He came up with the idea for the Daggers Legends match after a close friend was diagnosed with dyspraxia and dyslexia. 
“Football is my life, so it made sense to organise something for the benefit of someone I love by doing something I love, he said. ....

Havering Athletic Club has enjoyed a resurgent return after lockdown.
Now open for more than five weeks since March 29, club secretary Tony Benton spoke of a thriving facility:  It has been great since we came back. We have had higher than usual retention for this time of year and over 250 athletes are registered with England Athletics to compete.
Athletes are highly motivated and are training hard. We hosted an open competition at Hornchurch last Sunday which attracted 300 entrants from our club, all over Essex and further afield.   ....

A 13-year-old girl ran 100km in March to raise money for a children’s charity which helps youngsters grow up safely and happily .
Scarlett-Rose Farmer ran the equivalent of more than two marathons to support the National Children’s Bureau, raising £1,795, 
She told the
Recorder: “I’ve always wanted to do a charity event at some point in my life. 
“I chose to support the National Children’s Bureau because I appreciate the friends and family in my life and am grateful to have them by my side.  ....
