The amount of stone chippings left over by contractors working for Norfolk County Council has been tagged a safety hazard by people in Hopton.

The problems related to work in Station Road, Hopton, but similar complaints were made about Links Road in Gorleston.
Mr Annison, who has his own paving company, said contractors had also covered over newly-painted cycle lanes.
He told residents to complain and reckoned at least 100 had made their voices heard. I am not happy with the standard of work, he added. Being a county councillor for Lothingland I will be having a good look into this and checking up.

The boss of a hospice charity appeal that estimates it lost up to £700,000 during the pandemic has hit back at claims there is no realistic prospect of the facility ever being built.
Three years ago East Coast Hospice (ECH), the charity behind a bid to build Margaret Chadd House, on the Hopton/Gorleston border told this newspaper it would be up and running by November 2020.
At the time it was calculated it would take another 40 years to raise the £5.2m required, based on the £62,194 raised in 2016/2017.
