Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Rico Rodriguez says initial investigation determined a southbound vehicle veered into oncoming traffic near Casky Lane and struck two northbound vehicles. One man was extricated by the Hopkinsville Fire Department and flown by Air Evac to a Nashville hospital with a leg injury. Two other patients were taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. North Elm St shooting suspect in jail

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio May 8, 2021 | 7:38 AM The man sought for a shooting incident Thursday night on North Elm Street is in custody after he went to the hospital Friday night with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra says there was evidence at the scene that 24-year old Marshawn Taylor of Hopkinsville had also shot himself when he shot 26-year old Marka Smith of Owensboro in the wrist and hip while she was sitting in a vehicle in the 100 block of North Elm. Taylor went to Jennie Stuart Medical Center Friday night with a minor gunshot wound to the thigh and was treated and released into the custody of Hopkinsville police.

Medical episode leads to single-vehicle accident

A woman was traveling toward Country Club on Millbrooke when she had a medical emergency, according to Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Rico Rodriguez. Her vehicle then continued at a high rate of speed, crossed Country Club and overturned before coming to rest in the grass.
