Hopkinsville Chief Finance Officer Robert Martin has taken on a more personal project to reinvest into the city of Hopkinsville.
Martin, who lives on South Main Street, bought the neighboring lot and home to his current residence on May 3 after former owner Nita Peacock was no longer able to maintain the residence due to her health.
He bought his first home on South Main Street, “The Blue House” roughly 18 years ago and is the 10th owner, according to past deed documents.
“I’ve been working on that house basically for the whole 18 years,” Martin said.
Peacock and Martin had been neighbors for many years before the house was sold. ....
