From Staff Reports GREENE TWP. Vietnam War veteran Robert Rupert of Hanover Township received the Quilt of Valor from Hookstown Grange No1980. Presented on May 13 by Drew Fegley, lecturer, Jill Scott, Hookstown Grange president, and Michael Rounds, legislative/agriculture chairman, the Quilt of Valor is sponsored by the National Grange, and is available to local granges to bestow to deserving veterans who saw military action in any of the wars or police action involving the U.S. Rupert, 74, was deployed from December 1968 to December 1969 in the Army infantry. He then was selected by a pilot to be his mechanic, a job he previously held with TWA airlines prior to his being drafted. Bob earned his way up in rank to Specialist 5th Class. He kept his pilot s plane flying and in good working order. ....
