The facilities are hot. We made the decision to evacuate the patients from the facility. Eight people dead, three at the nursing home, five later at the hospital. The precise cause yet to be determined. Several suffering from dee hydration and heat exhaustion. They had fans but no air conditioning. We believe it may be related to the losses of power and the storm, but we are conducting a criminal investigation not ruling anything out. The temperature was 90 but it felt 102degrees. Whats also troubling is that the nursing home is yards away from one of the biggest hospitals in, in the area. The fact that its down the street, we dont have control over what happens in the facility. Police are looking into reports that the windows wouldnt hope. The Health Department had been in contact with the nursing home in the last three days and told them to call 911 if there was any problem. How does this happen . Its a sad state of affairs. ....
