Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced Monday that she will not seek another term in office as a pro-Beijing committee prepares to select a new leader next month.
The election had been due to be held on March 27 but was pushed back till May 8 to allow time for the government to battle the COVID outbreak that has seen over one million of the city's 7.4 million people infected.
