Story. Its a case where the state governments rule makers. Were the rule breakers. Because of a whistle blowers tip, the state Auditors Office looked into the department of administrative services. Thats the state agency that manages government operations. What the audit found is that a former top attorney in the Branstad Administration was not qualified for the position that he was in. And was paid 22thousand dollars more than he should have been. Attorney ryan lamb left his job last year after a scandal involving secret settlements paid to former state employees. Essentially, hush money was given to employees with grievances. The auditors report shows lamb was paid for the nearly four months was serving in the Army Reserves as a lawyer.
