There are three more deaths and 222 new cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba on Sunday, the day after the province loosened restrictions in the southern half of the province.
For the second day in a row, more than half of the new cases 116 are in the north, a provincial news release said.
On Saturday, 216 cases of the virus were reported. Of those, 118 were in the Northern Health Region.
Some of the new cases are in Fox Lake Cree Nation, which is battling an outbreak. Although some recoveries are being reported, the First Nation, which is about 700 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, saw 11 new cases over the past two days.

The province continues to ask Manitobans to only call to book a COVID-19 vaccine if they qualify for one during the current round.
Public health officials advise nine additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today, including:
A male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region;
A male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the outbreak at the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre;
A male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region;
A male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region;
A female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the outbreak at the Park Manor Care Home;

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 14.2 per cent provincially and 13.4 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on December 15, 2020, 272 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, one case was removed due to a data correction, making the net total 271 and brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 21,535.
