Atria park just issued a statement confirming that three residents here apparently were served some kind of dish washing liquid instead of juice. Now, weve learned that a 94yearold woman was rushed to the hospital saturday where she later died. Two other residents, who also drank the liquid, remain hospitalized. Atria is a large facility described online as having 135 various apartments spread across three floors. A source close to the investigation says this may be a case where someone thought they were pouring some kind of juice for the residents, but instead ended up giving some of the residents some kind of poisonous liquid to all three. Now, we went to atria park to talk to the director, but we were told she was not available. We reached out to the company but have not received any response. I talked to several residents this afternoon and employees offcamera, who told us they were not even aware of what had happened here. Now, the daughter who i mentioned, whose mother died, she said that she was a longtime san mateo resident and a mother of nine. And that daughter told me shes absolutely in shock tonight.
