Triple British Touring Car Championship race winner Stephen Jelley has returned to the West Surrey Racing BMW squad for 2021 after an 11-year absence from the team.
Jelley abandoned his single-seater career to go into tin-tops with WSR in 2008, and in his second season he steered the Super 2000-spec BMW 320si to two victories at Rockingham.
Lack of budget forced Jelley into the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Team Parker Racing. He returned to the BTCC in 2017 with that squad, initially in a Ford Focus and then in an ex-WSR BMW 125i M Sport, which he took to one victory, in 2019 at Oulton Park. ....

British Touring Car Championship race winner Tom Oliphant will remain on board at the West Surrey Racing-run BMW squad for a third season this year.
The former Ginetta GT4 Supercup champion joined WSR for 2019 after a rookie BTCC season at the wheel of a Ciceley Motorsport Mercedes, and in 2020 made a big jump in competitiveness to take his maiden win on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit.
The 30-year-old Oliphant, who ended up sixth in the 2020 standings, is the second driver confirmed for the three-car WSR line-up for this season, after four-time champion Colin Turkington was announced last week. ....

Sam Osborne will line-up alongside Andy Neate in the two Motorbase Performance-entered Ford Focus STs for the 2021 BTCC season.
After confirmation that Ollie Jackson will partner Jake Hill in the second of the MB Motorsport Fords, Osborne – who was partner to Hill last season – will be paired up with Neate as he continues with the Ford team into a second season.
Osborne’s father Pete purchased Motorbase along with AmD boss Shaun Hollamby over the winter.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Motorbase Performance this year,” he said. “With this team, I can continue my progression in 2021. Last year I began to really settle into the series, so my aim for this season is to keep pushing myself as hard as I can and fight for the Jack Sears Trophy. ....

Leading British Touring Car Championship squad Motorbase Performance has been sold in what amounts to a merger with the rival AmD-run MB Motorsport squad.
AmD boss Shaun Hollamby and businessman Pete Osborne, whose son Sam competed in the BTCC for MB last season, are the new owners, with Motorbase founder Dave Bartrum standing down after 15 seasons of almost uninterrupted participation in the series.
It means that four of the fourth-generation Ford Focuses, built and developed by Motorbase prior to the 2020 season, will compete in 2021 - two will run under the Motorbase banner, and two as MB Motorsport, named in recognition of AmD commercial partner Mark Blundell. They will all be fielded out of Motorbase s premises in Wrotham, Kent. ....
