The nonprofit Ivy Creek Foundation will be hosting three talks in March for Women s History Month regarding figures who made an impact in either Charlottesville, Albemarle County or Virginia.
Ivy Creek Natural Area and Historic River View Farm in Charlottesville works to connect people to the past and present by honoring the land, history, and community.
In collaboration with Three Notch’d Brewery, they're launching the River View Farm Legacy Ale on Thursday, February 8th at Three Notch’d Craft Kitchen and Brewery in Charlottesville. They welcome you to join them in celebrating Black History Month and the legacy of the Carr/Greer families, along with the history of Historic River View Farm.

River View Farm was purchased in 1870 by former slave Hugh Carr, who went on to become one of the largest African American landowners in Albemarle County.
