Zeaphard Caelian, head of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD), said flooding was reported in the town of Binalbagan, Isabela, and Hinoba-an in the south and Victorias City in the north. In the towns of Binalbagan and Hinoba-an, 10 families composed of 86 individuals were evacuated and sought shelter on higher ground. ....
Published May 27, 2021, 4:00 PM BACOLOD CITY – Two neighbors were killed while another was wounded after they were stabbed and hacked in Sitio Buyog, Barangay Nabulao, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental Tuesday. Police identified the fatalities as Percy Lugay, 36; and Robert Gabonada, 34. Wounded was Gabonada’s father Rudy, 64. Police Major James Latayon, Sipalay City police chief, said the suspect identified as 55-year-old Douglas Gaboya allegedly attacked the victims for an unknown reason. Investigation showed that Lugay was watching television, when Gaboya, armed with a bolo, suddenly entered the house and hacked the victim on his neck and shoulder. Gaboya then went to the house of Rudy and stabbed Robert, hitting his chest. The suspect also stabbed and hacked Rudy, hitting the left side of his body, face, and back. ....
