Chicken fans showed up early Thursday for the opening of the Erie region s second Chick-fil-A restaurant.
Friends Karli Goellner, 17, of Millcreek and Sarah Stravinsky, 18, of Summit Township, were the first customers in separate cars in the drive-through, arriving, they said, at a bleary 4 a.m. The restaurant opened four hours later. We just love chicken, said Goellner, with a laugh.
The restaurant, at 2519 W. 12th St. in the Yorktown Centre, is the second one in the Erie region.
The 5,000-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant has 114 seats, 63 parking spots and a double-laned drive-through. Construction on the restaurant began in 2020.
The restaurant will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the time being, and will serve patrons from its drive-through window and through curbside delivery via the Chick-fil-A app. The restaurant s dining room will remain closed indefinitely.
