Two injured in a pair of Tuesday Hillsdale County crashes

By Jim Measel May 5, 2021 | 11:41 AM HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Two persons were injured in a pair of Hillsdale County crashes on Tuesday. The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the first crash took place at about 2:00 p.m. on South Hillsdale Road north of East Card Road as a school bus was stopped nearby. Deputies report 40-year-old Angela Payne of Jonesville was able to avoid a car stopped for the bus but ran off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle then overturned. Payne was wearing her seat belt and was taken by the Reading Emergency Unit to Hillsdale Hospital.

MSP investigate shooting involving Hillsdale County deputy

By Jim Measel Apr 29, 2021 10:35 AM READING TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The shooting of a man and his dog on Wednesday night by a Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department deputy at a residence south of Reading is being investigated by detectives from the Michigan State Police First District Special Investigation Section. The State Police issued a news release on the incident at midday on Thursday. They say the deputy responded to a dog at large complaint at a residence in the 6500 block of South Edon Road at about 7:45 p.m.. When the deputy got to the residence, he was immediately attacked by the dog and bit. The deputy then shot and killed the dog.

Two injured in Saturday night Hillsdale County motorcycle crash

Coldwater, MI, USA / WTVB | 1590 AM · 95.5 FM | The Voice of Branch County Apr 4, 2021 1:32 PM CAMDEN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two Osseo residents were injured Saturday night in a Hillsdale County motorcycle crash which forced the shut down of Long Lake Road near Wigent Road for almost three hours. The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 7:40 p.m. when 35-year-old Garett Mitchil Crawford  went out of control, left the road, struck a road sign and crashed. Both Crawford and his passenger, 28-year-old Kaylynn Alicia Cousino, had their helmets on. Crawford was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Cousino was taken to Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
