READING TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) â The shooting of a man and his dog on Wednesday night by a Hillsdale County Sheriffâs Department deputy at a residence south of Reading is being investigated by detectives from the Michigan State Police First District Special Investigation Section.
The State Police issued a news release on the incident at midday on Thursday. They say the deputy responded to a dog at large complaint at a residence in the 6500 block of South Edon Road at about 7:45 p.m..
When the deputy got to the residence, he was immediately attacked by the dog and bit. The deputy then shot and killed the dog.
