Award winning writer-performer Daniel Bye and Chumbawamba singer-songwriter Boff Whalley are set to visit Trowbridge Town Hall on Friday 2 July at 8pm on the summer 2021 tour of their exciting new joint production These Hills Are Ours, which explores their mutual love of running, celebrates the freedom to roam wild places - and asks what they’re really running from. For the last three years Bye and Whalley have been running a series of routes, from the centre of the city in which they found themselves, to the top of the peak overlooking that city - culminating in one epic journey for Dan, more than twice as far as he’s ever run before. The stage is set for English theatres to reopen from Monday, and venues are banking on crowds returning this summer. Which shows are opening, will audiences return - and could the comeback be short-lived?
If a playwright had written the pandemic, a theatre critic might have struggled to pin down its genre - tragedy, thriller, depressing kitchen sink drama or farce?
But they might have recognised the writer s skill in timing the plot twists.

It’s felt like an age since we were last able to visit the theatre, but the industry’s future is beginning to look hopeful again as venues are permitted to reopen this spring.
Under the step three of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, indoor and outdoor theatres in the UK are currently scheduled to reopen from 17 May.
However, there will be limits on how many people can attend events, with most venues requiring tickets to be booked within households or bubbles. We recommend checking out each theatre’s guidelines for returning before booking tickets.
