WINCHESTER civic chiefs are eyeing another small open space for more council housing. The grassy area on Dyson Drive in Abbotts Barton is being examined as a site for eight houses for people on the Winchester housing list. A couple of years ago the council developed open space on nearby Hillier Way for houses. Abbotts Barton also has a large open space off Chaundler Road. A council spokesman said: “We initially held a consultation with over 300 residents in 2012 which lead to the development of the Abbotts Barton Planning Framework. More recently, in 2019, we again engaged with over 200 residents and have now appointed architect to draw up proposals for a planning application to include eight homes.” ....
