Jasper County faith leaders work to ease vaccine concerns

Pastor Kardell Ferguson rolled up his sleeve to not only get his first COVID-19 vaccination, but also to help others in the community realize the importance of receiving it.
Ferguson, pastor of Lovely Hill and Zion Oak Grove Baptist churches in Ridgeland, and his wife Lorine received their first shots Friday morning at the Jasper County Health Department as part of an initiative to promote local vaccinations.
I think it s important for leadership. Pastors need to step up and do what s necessary to keep our families and our communities safe, he said. It should be done on the largest scale possible so we can get back to our church services as we are accustomed to. ....
