We were in the first group in 2012 for the mssp program. We looked at it a little bit differently. Our philosophy was we were going to use this as a clinical laboratory. We were jumping in to the valuebased reimbursement scheme and so we decided to limit to primary care physicians to mandate patientcentered medical homes for all of our primary care offices that we bore the cost of all of the training for the primary care for the patientcentered medical homes. They said it was very different and i think it partly depends on a matter of perspective. These guys think what theyre doing is different in intent to the common core and they can give you chapter and verse. Nothing feels like it has changed. You mentioned universities are buffered. The only way that the teacher prep programs are going to fill urgency about changing anything is the people who are taking a graduate insist on what they need. As long as we take High School Math teachers who are poorly trained and is so long as we take folks who dont know how to, it is hard to actually generate the leverage internally to fundamentally change what they do. The common core is the single greatest thing to happen to Public Education since brown boat versus board of education. And what happens, could conceivably be achieved. The way we advocate, the concern we have to others, we all have our own style. We shouldnt underemphasize the fact the we are asking more of kids all over the country. Giving new assessments, secretary duncan has done a good job, and his push to look at standards and assessments, those were all locates pushes.
