That. at 270 officers out since 2020. that s almost one-third of the seattle police department. you ve got, right now, 100 plus officers were unavailable according to an internal hr documented that i was unable to get a hold of. these are mostly officers who are burning through their accrued vacation time and sick time. they earned it, they are taking it. at the end of this, most of them are just going to be leaving. that they are leaving for the obvious reasons. they ve been going through the defend movement, hitting on cots in seattle has been a sport. they don t want to work in a city that doesn t appreciate them. as a consequence, we had a 26 year high homicide rate. we have the lowest deployable stats in the 80s, we have just over 1,050 police officers were deployable. the department believes, their goal to have proper staffing is 1400. just to give you an example of where things stand. there are times that precincts ....
