The world premiere musical "Christmas in Connecticut," at the Goodspeed Opera House through Dec. 30, rethinks the classic Barbara Stanwyck movie to make it more relevant for modern times, though it's still a warm, frisky, 1940s screwball rom-com.
"Fun Home," the musical based on Alison Bechdel's "family tragicomic" graphic novel memoir, is at TheaterWorks Hartford through Oct. 30. The production unfortunately loses its plot and its balance in telling the tale of a young woman's coming-out at college contrasted with the problems of her closeted gay father.
