Chinese ultramarathon survivor rescued by herdsman, sheltered in cave

Long-distance runner Zhang Xiaotao was in the leading pack of the ultramarathon race in China in which 21 people died from hypothermia after being drenched by freezing rain and buffeted by gale-force winds on a mountain trail.
Of the half dozen frontrunners, Zhang was the only one to survive Saturday s disaster in the highlands above the Yellow River in northwest China. Recovering from his ordeal, 29-year-old Zhang recounted how he was found unconscious by a herdsman who carried him to safety.

Police nab undergraduate, herdsman for kidnapping, killing two teenagers

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Wale Olokode, on Friday paraded a 22-year-old undergraduate, Muyideen Usman, and his friend, Memudu Isa, aged 20, for the alleged abduction of two children and murder.
Olokode said a case of kidnapping was reported at lludun division of the command, adding that policemen swung into action and arrested the suspects.
He said the suspects had on January 26, 2020 abducted and gruesomely murdered one 13-year-old Thompson Onibokun and Samson Onibokun, 12, at a football pitch around the Iludun area of Osogbo.
He stated, “The suspects confessed to have conspired, kidnapped and killed the victims. The bodies of the two kids were recovered inside the bush around Oke-Baale area, Osogbo and deposited at the State University Teaching Hospital morgue, Osogbo for autopsy. The suspects will be arraigned after the completion of investigation.” ....

Youths storm Fulani settlement as herdsman kill Osun farmer

A yet to be identified Fulani herdsman on Tuesday reportedly hacked a farmer in Ijabe, Osun State, identified as Ridwan, to death.
Ridwan was said to be working on his farm at Bole village along Iba Road when the herdsman attacked him.
A source in Ijabe town told our correspondent that Ridwan had misunderstanding with the herdsman that killed him sometime last year.
The source said the deceased had accused the herdsman of grazing his cattle on his farm, adding that the duo had a frosty relationship since the incident happened.
He said, “After the Fulani man had perpetrated the act, and the news of the attack filtered into town, some residents mobilised to the settlement of the Fulani herders and seized three people, including the man accused of committing the crime. ....

Denial of linking aid to sinking personal political gain. to mali now and that country has been battling a 7 year long insurgency which is seen to harvest taking control of large parts of the country thousands of people have also fled their homes because of interethnic violence many of these people have been displaced within mali as we hear from w. s funny for sure. it s only a stone s throw from here to downtown only short tried from the bustle of the city to this camp but it may as well be on a different planet many in the city say they are unaware of this camp for displaced herdsman built on a waste dump this is definitely not the home or anybody would want to leave for anybody should live yet it has become the home for their 1000 people who fled from interethnic violence in central mali and yes this is their home on the landfill ....
