Carol Ruth Mudderman died July 23, 2023, in Rochester, MN, at her daughter’s home in the care of her daughter and Seasons Hospice. She was born December 10, 1928 in Fargo, ND to Edwin and Clara Sather and was named Carol because it was so close to Christmas. After graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1946, she worked as a Bell Telephone operator. In 1950, she married Harold Mudderman and established a home in Moorhead, MN, having four children: Denis, David, Paul and Nancy. Summers were spent at a lake cabin at nearby Cotton Lake and trips around Minnesota. She was active at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, particularly the library committee. In the 1970s she worked as a dorm mother at Oak Grove High School in Fargo. ....
Lorraine Delores Malloy, 92, cherished partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away Sunday, March 6th in Sun City, AZ upon returning home after 18 holes of golf. Lorraine was born January 6th, 1930 to Peter and Bernice Wang, somewhere near the small town of Ulen, Minnesota. Her Norwegian family lived on a small farm and she was the youngest daughter of six kids. When she started the first grade, she was the only one of her brothers and sisters who was interested in learning and speaking English. Her siblings used to tease her and call her the little English girl. Our aunts and uncles all spoke with a very thick Norwegian accent because they didn’t learn the English language until they were much older. ....
