ROME: Pope Francis has appointed Society of Jesus priest Henry Pattarumadathil as a member of Pontifical Biblical Commission. Fifty seven-year-old Fr Pattarumadathil, who hails from Kerala in Southern India was ordained as a priest for the Kerala Province of Society of Jesus in 1995. He obtained a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in 2000 and a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2007 . Fr Pattarumadathil served as Associate Professor at the Pontifical Bible Institute in Rome from 2013. He was a member of the Kerala Catholic Bishops Conference (KCBC) team for Malayalam New Testament revision from 2008-2009. He was also Director of studies at the Jesuit Regional Theology Centre in Kalady, Kerala from 2008 to 2010. ....
