TODAY February 1, 2021 The Federal Government has begun the second disbursement of over N1.3 billion to 131,764 beneficiaries in Zamfara under the Household Uplifting Programme-Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP-CCT). Newsmen report that the HUP-CCT is one of the Four Social Investment Programmes anchored by the Federal Government to reduce poverty level among poor and vulnerable Nigerians. The HUP-CCT Head of Unit Cash Transfer in Zamfara, Alhaji Sani Marafa, disclosed this in Bungudu town, Bungudu Local Government Area of the state, on Monday, while monitoring the disbursement exercise. Marafa said the disbursement will be conducted in six benefiting Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state. ....
By Habibu Harisu Sokoto, Jan. 29, 2021 Beneficiaries of Federal Government’s Cash Transfer Scheme in Sokoto communities say the N5,000 monthly stipends have improved their nutrition status and boosted small scale businesses in their localities. A cross-section of women from 21 political wards in Tureta and Raba Local Government Areas made this known at the disbursement exercise on Friday. A beneficiary, Rahinatu Salisu said she collected two months stipends at the exercise and expressed appreciation to the Federal Government on the gesture stressing that it was distinct and immensely impacted on her life. Salisu explained that she and other beneficiaries had established savings groups after mobilisation training where they were taught how to save from little to big while most of them had followed the guides. ....
TODAY January 29, 2021 The Federal Government has begun the disbursement of N133 million to 133,762 beneficiaries under the Household Upliftment Programme-Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP-CCT) in Jigawa. Reports have it that the programme also known as Household Uplifting Programme (HUP) is one of the four social investment programmes anchored by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Speaking at the launch, the National Programme Coordinator, Mr Ibrahim Jafar, said each beneficiary will get N10,000. NAN reports that the programme began in September 2016. The programme is focused on responding to deficiencies in capacity and lack of investment in human capital, especially amongst our poorest citizens. The programme is designed to deliver timely and accessible cash transfers to beneficiary households and sets to support development objectives and priorities, to improve household consumption. ....
