republican representative ron desantos. thank you for joining us. before we get into the nuances what may be going on here. the initial theme from the mainstream media, 80% of them was to focus on comey and reasons for doing this. jim jordan didn t think it was the right thing to do. trey gowdy thought that perhaps it was the wrong time as well. what s your feeling as someone who s so close to this and had an opportunity to grill james comey already? if you look at what he said in the letter, he had to amend his previous testimony that he made to the committees under oath where he said our investigation into this smart over. well, that s no longer the truth. when witnesses testify before the congress and their testimony is no longer true, we do usually expect them to come notify congress that facts and circumstances have changed. that was one of the things we went after the irs commissioner about. in that sense, he had to notify congress. i get the timing and people are goi
safety bulletin offered a fix, a light for the control panel that would serve as a visual warning to pilots. the cost, close to $7,000. it was merely a recommendation. the faa doesn t say that an operator of a helicopter must comply with that service bulletin. reporter: about a quarter of as-350 owners decided to buy the fix and that worried pilots like pat mahaney who would, according to just-released documents, tell everyone they needed to pay attention to warning light could lead to a crash. for something so logical, something so simple. a very simple fix. reporter: and then came july 3rd, 2015. look at the takeoff. the counterclockwise spin. something padded seen happened in new mexico, something he knew would be impossible to control. and helicopter, one person on the bicycle path. and smoke and flames. reporter: less than a minute later, pat s helicopter crashed. a few seconds after that, a problem developed in antiquated fuel system spilled open and fuele
