A Mumbai sessions court had held acclaimed international artist Chintan Upadhyay guilty of abetting and conspiring to kill his wife Hema, who too was an artist.
A sessions court here on Tuesday sentenced artist Chintan Upadhyay to "rigorous imprisonment for life" for conspiring to kill his estranged wife Hema Upadhyay.
Chintan was arrested in December 2015, days after the bodies of Hema and her lawyer Harish Bhambhani were found stuffed in boxes in a nullah in Kandivali. The trial in the case against him and three others is nearing conclusion.
