The International Defence Conference 2021, opened in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (February 20) highlighting UAE s role in advancing global defence industries and its continued support ot advanced technology.

Organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the conference was held for the first time in a hybrid format virtually and in-person.

The conference, held at the Adnoc Business Center, brought together over 24 experts and specialists in the defence sector, with over 2,400 delegates from 80 nations joining the conference.

Held under the theme of ‘The Prosperity and Development of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology and the Protection in the Era of the 4IR’, the conference is organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) and the Tawazun Economic Council, in cooperation with th ....

Saudi Arabia is starting a new military industry and aims to spend 50 per cent of the military budget locally by 2030.
Saudi Arabia plans to invest $20 billion in the military industry over the next decade and is looking at collaborations with the UAE and other allies, a top official from the Kingdom said in Abu Dhabi.
The government has put a plan that we will be investing in excess of $10 billion in the military industry in Saudi Arabia over the next decade and equal amounts on research and development. I think it requires a lot of collaborations in terms of research and development. We have issued 114 licences for 70 companies in Saudi Arabia, about a 20 per cent of them are foreign joint ventures or full ownership by the foreign companies, said Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al Ohali, Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries - Saudi Arabia, during the International Defence Conference on ....

International speakers set to participate at IDEX

Over 26 global industry leaders, specialists, and experts will attend the International Defence Conference 2021, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on February 20.

The event, held as hybrid event for the first time in its history, will be held both at the ADNOC Business Center, as well as virtually through global platforms. Participants will discuss the Prosperity and Development of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology and the Protection in the Era of the 4IR.

The Conference is organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and the Tawazun Economic Council (Tawazun), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the General Command of the Armed Forces of the UAE.
