The special ceremony was attended by the Greek Secretary General of the Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy.
“Greece and Italy maintain long-standing cultural interaction relations that are well established with mutual exchanges of cultural goods and authentic experiences of transnational friendship and cultural cooperation,” said Giannis Chrysoulakis.
He also stressed that the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy promotes and supports actions aimed at strengthening our cultural relations with other countries, as in this case with Italy.
In this context, he added, the friendly city of Bologna and its elected mayor, decided, two of its parks to be named after two Greek citizens. ....

BUENOS AIRES An international literary competition on 200 years of Freedom and Hellenism is being organised by the Greek Cultural Organisation Nostos , based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the foreign ministry.
The competition, organised in collaboration with the Writers Association of Argentina (SADE), is aimed at Greeks and philhellenes everywhere, giving them the opportunity to participate with a work written in one of four languages: Greek, Spanish, Italian or English.
Our experience from the three previous International Literary Competitions, but also in general, from the many and successful events in the 15 years of our existence, make us optimistic that this year s competition will be crowned with success, with the sole purpose of promoting our homeland in all the lengths and breadths of the Earth, N ....

Four hundred board games related to the Greek Revolution (1821) were donated by the Athens War Museum to the Foreign Ministry’s General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy & Greeks Abroad.
The board games will be sent to Greek diaspora children, on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution.
“With great emotion and great joy we accept today courtesy of the War Museum to our young expatriates. For children, play is a key tool in the learning process. The donation of four hundred games gives the opportunity to our little friends to get in touch with their homeland and get to know Greek history and culture. Greek children abroad, no matter how far away they are, are the future of ecumenical Hellenism and we will always have our door and heart open for them,” said Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Kostas Vlassis ....
