Base reported seeing people with long guns on campus, reported an active shooter situation. Well, we now know that it was a misunderstanding. There was an active Shooter Drill that was scheduled for this morning inside that medical facility, its been scheduled for some time, but obviously not everybody on base received word of that drill, including the person that placed that phone call. However, out of an abundance of caution until they sorted things out, the base was put on lockdown. So they had this drilled scheduled. But then got what they called a real world warning. Out of an abundance of caution, they followed their protocols for an active shooter until they could sort things out and figure out exactly what happened. At about 10 30 this morning, thats when they realized the mistake, the all clear was given. We spoke to a man who worked on the base who said for a while there it was prty scary.
