supplied/Nelson Mail Tamaha Sea Scouts and Mapua Boat Club are set to go head-to-head for the Mapua Cup which was won by the boat club at the last regatta in 2019. The Mapua Boat Club Regatta is timed strategically with the tides, and this Sunday, the annual race day will be running midst the excitement of the Prada Cup. But not to be outdone by the international sporting event, the regatta will be presenting its own tongue-in-cheek version of the America’s Cup for the second time since the trophy was created in 2019. First presented in 2019 to a Mapua Boat Club team after they beat the Tamaha Sea Scouts in a traditional cutter race, the award was left to gather dust last year while the event was cancelled due to Covid. ....
