Es ist süß und ehrenvoll, fürs Vaterland zu sterben - so steht es an der Tafel, und dazu sollen die Schüler sich bekennen. Lebensgefährlicher Unsinn, befindet der Schüler Brecht: Der Abschied vom Leben fällt immer schwer, im Bett wie auf dem Schlachtfeld.
