SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Santa Rosa police officers made two traffic stops Saturday night that resulted in the arrests of two local men for firearms violations, the department announced on Nixle. The first occurred at 8:04 p.m. in the area of Corby Ave at Hearn Ave. The driver of the vehicle, Luis Miguel Peraza, 25, of Santa Rosa, told the officer there was a loaded firearm in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Police arrested Peraza for suspicion of several violations, including possession of an unregistered and loaded firearm.

Two Separate Traffic Stops Result In Two Separate Firearm Related Arrests

February 15, 2021 kali9/iStock Two separate traffic stops in Santa Rosa have resulted in two separate firearm related arrests. Both arrests came Saturday night in the area of Corby Avenue. First, 25-year-old Luis Miguel Peraza was pulled over by police. During the stop, he told officers he had a loaded firearm in his vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and a loaded glock pistol was found. Peraza was arrested on several firearms related charges including possession of a loaded firearms by a member of an active street gang. A few hours later, another traffic stop was conducted for 34-year-old Hector Lara-Vazquez. The officers discovered that he was on felony formal probation, and upon searching the vehicle, they found a loaded glock pistol and a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested on several gun related charges and violation of probation.
