MNRF Implementing Restricted Fire Zone

With the forest fire hazard remaining high to extreme, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is putting the Kenora, Fort Frances, Dryden, and southern parts of the Sioux Lookout and Red Lake fire districts into restricted fire zones.
The order is effective June 30th at 12:01 am and will be in place until further notice.
Inside the restricted zone, all outdoor fires are banned. The MNRF says you can still use portable gas stoves, but if you are going to use one you need to use extreme care.
They tell us that there were two new fires reported by the afternoon of June 29th; one in the Thunder Bay district and one in the Dryden district. Dryden fire #52, located around 30 kilometres north of Ignace on an island on Heathwalt Lake, is being observed by crews at 0.1 hectares in size. ....
