City man charged in connection with January shooting
As Nichole Gillard and ex-boyfriend Darren Donnell Brown fought with one another in Gillard’s apartment, Brown suddenly fired the gun he had in his hand in close proximity to her head, city police alleged in a court document
Although no one was hurt in the shooting that occurred at the Timberland Apartments, 750 W. Edwin St., on the afternoon of Jan. 9, the gunfire caused Gillard’s ears to ring, police said.
Brown, 30, of 331 Center St., fled the scene before police arrived, but he has since been arrested and taken into custody on felony and misdemeanor charges, including aggravated assault and carrying a firearm without license, police said. ....
