The number of cases involving variants of concern increased to 1,623 cases in Ottawa on Friday from 613 on Thursday. Since the first case of COVID-19 on March 11, 2020, there have been 18,788 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa, including 470 deaths. Today is the first day of a provincewide stay-at-home order, designed to limit the spread of COVID-19.
