With the facts as they stand currently. okay. i want to also get to this other big headline out this morning, some good news for michael bloomberg, who s thinking about getting into the race. a new morning consult poll out today shows the former new york mayor, who s weighing that run for president, he would lead president trump by six points in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup. bloomberg originally said he would not run, but news broke this week that he s reconsidering that because his adviser says he s, quote, increasingly concerned that the field of current or the current field of candidates is not well positioned to beat trump. now, this morning, consult polls shows that if he does not officially throw his hat in the ring, bloomberg would enter the race in sixth place between kamala harris and andrewening. and of course, joe biden at the top of that heap there. so, hanna, how do you interpret this poll? is this realistic in your mind in terms of what the field actually looks ....

Working class voters, non-college educated voters, and then also minority voters are. african-american voters. so that s where biden as a candidate in the democratic field is strong. does bloomberg have appeal to those voters? i mean, he seems to me like he would be i couldn t see an argument for maybe moderates somebody with appeal. can he go to south carolina and win over african-american voters? there s no evidence he can. now, obviously he had at times support among african-americans as new york city mayor and at times a tough relationship with african-american, but there s no indication nationally which you are right. non-white voters. the bedrock of the democratic party. how you win a democratic party nomination, part of what joe biden s resiliency has been about in this race. why he s remained top of the heap even if had lackluster debate performances or what have you and there s no indication ....

With your parents on fox business. bret: 100%. neil: let me ask you, the president getting a heap of scorn on even meeting with erdogan. what do you make of it? bret: he has decided, the president has, that his foreign policy will be to meet with even bad guys. the turkish leader does not have a great track record about how he s dealing with us in the u.s. we saw with the interaction with the kurds in the action across the board in syria. however, there are things that they ve talked about that the u.s. and turkey could deal on. remember they are a nato ally. despite all the bad things that have happened and they are numerous, president trump believes it s worth sitting down with him. it does track with previous leaders. you referenced fdr and churchill and stalin. churchill and fdr believed it was imperative that they sit down with stalin at the end of world war ii. there was a chance that we as a ....

MSNBC Andrea Mitchell Reports November 8, 2019 17:08:00

Ukraine. so there s a lot, i think, that congress wants to ask of him. he had that rocky press conference a few weeks ago when he acknowledged a quid pro quo, then backed away from it after the fact. the president has been frustrated with him at times here but he remains the acting chief of staff and under a heap of scrutiny at the moment. matt, you were chief of staff. can you imagine defying a congressional subpoena? i certainly can remember testifying before congress as well as grand juries during that period. that s part of today s political landscape. and the chief of staff can be the chief javelin catcher and mick mulvaney probably feels that way. but i think president trump was warming up this morning before he headed south again to continue his tour. but i think, you know, you noted, and phil and others have noted a vulnerability there, an unease. the fact that chief of stuff mulvaney was apparently not included in the al baghdadi ....

MSNBC The Last Word With Lawrence ODonnell November 3, 2019 02:25:00

Just be the facts, which by the way most of us have known largely since day one what happens then? well, i think they re in a heap of trouble, but they were already in a heap of trouble. we have reached a pretty bad point when don young s head butt may have been the most honest response in that whole lot of evasions. i was thinking about that old police song when i saw that series of words that s all i have to say to you. they have nothing to say because they know that they are being asked to defend the indefensible, and it is particularly hard for senators in tough races next year in tough states joannie erntz and susan collins and cory gardener because they lose either way. they need the trump base, and they know they need a lot of votes from anti-trump people. what you re starting to see, there s a story in the post, ....
